Eyal Amir

Some people claim it’s impossible to write original songs anymore. That’s complete and utter nonsense, of course. It’s simply a great excuse for having no songwriting talent. Eyal Amir is the antithesis to the musician image the music industry is trying to sell you. He doesn’t look like a model, he’s a nerd and he doesn’t even sing. But the songs he writes don’t sound like anything you’ve ever heard before and are absolutely brilliant. Take a listen to Latin Dream and decide for yourselves:

Latin Dream (feat. Tammy Scheffer)

Music Video

I gotta break away
To find the breaks in shadows abiding
Where time isn’t hiding waiting to take away or break my last dream
Sorry to be so dour
But any hour I’m due for the taking
My poor heart is breaking
Now that the nurses say
I’m at the end
I’ll have to get going
There’s no time to waste
This is not a joke
I had mountains, I had stars
And I’m going to lose them!

Don’t Let Go Of The Latin Dream
I’ll be free and flying through the sky
(To stay alive)
I’ll be in a flight of fancy
(Certain to survive)
Don’t Let Go Of the Latin Dream
I’ll be tearing down a river
(time is on my tail)
I’ll be young and maybe even male
Racing the clock bay by bay
I’m not going to give my life away

I’m gonna find the key
To rescue me
From people with flowers
And visiting hours
I’m sick of all the old, the used, the screams
Don’t cry me a river
Just leave me alone
This is not a joke
I had lovers, I had brains
And I’m going to lose them!

Don’t Let Go Of The Latin Dream
I’ll be free and flying through the sky
(To stay alive)
I’ll be on in flight of fancy
(Certain to survive)
Don’t Let Go Of the Latin Dream
I’ll be tearing down a river
(ready for a fight)
Or I’ll turn myself into the light
Racing the clock bay by bay
I’m not going to give my life away

FATHER TIME:
You think you’re special, think you’re smart?
Well I’ve got news for you, and guess what senorita?
There is no hiding in your brain, we all had dreams and lost them to the world.

Don’t Let Go Of The Latin Dream
I’ll be free and flying through the sky
(To stay alive)
I’ll be in a flight of fancy
(Certain to survive)
Don’t Let Go Of the Latin Dream
You might think it’s useless to pretend
(you’re free of time)
But nothing is certain in the end
Racing the clock bay by bay
I’m not going to give my life away
