In the hands of most artists, simple chord progressions are a recipe for disaster. Basically what listeners end up with is the same song over and over again (usually cleverly disguised by production so they can’t tell the difference). It’s all very easy on the ears but creatively the music is worthless. Now put the same chord progressions in the right hands, spice them up with brilliant lyrics… and you end up with songs too beautiful to describe- like these two. Have a sane weekend!

Lyrics

I’ll go crazy on the weekend
Coming last speaking I’m a freak
Wasted all my money on some brown face honey
Now I can hardly speak

Dream, dream, you are just a lucky star
So light up, blow my lungs away
Dream, dream, think I’m gonna be somebody
Feels like I’m lo-losing my way
Losing my way

I’m a sucker for my woman
Hair, legs, breasts and face
Wasted all my money now it ain’t funny
We can’t even aim

Dream, dream, you are just a lucky star
So light up, blow my lungs away
Dream, dream, think I’m gonna be somebody
Feels like I’m lo-losing my way
Losing my way, losing my way

Never Seen The Sea

Music Video

Lyrics

An iron sun sinks
Leaving this base
Behind bridges of silence
Below saints

A creature of dry land
A gale around me
The son of a searcher
Who’s never seen the sea

Nurseling beauty
How far can you crawl
God knows I love you,
You are an original

I came without reason
So bitter, so free
You were born by the river
But you’ve never seen the sea

I stood at your tombstone
I felt alive
A vision between us
A sun in the sky

I weighed up your madness
In scales of degree
You lived your whole life
But you never saw the sea
